Remington Arms-UMC Model 1911 U.S. Army Semi-Automatic Pistol, #10074, .45 ACP cal., 5" barrel, reblued finish, replacement checkered double diamond walnut grips, with standard blade front sight and "U"-notched rear sight. Includes two (2) WWI two-tone magazines, one is marked "A". Mfgd Dec. 1918. Frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "E.E.C." (Maj. E.E. Chapman) inspection mark over an "(eagle)" on the left side. Slide has patent dates to Aug. 19, 1913, "REMINGTON/UMC" in a circle, and "MANUFACTURED BY/REMINGTON ARMS UMC CO. INC./BRIDGEPORT. CONN. U.S.A." on the left side. Right side is marked "MODEL OF 1911/U.S. ARMY CALIBER .45". An "E" is stamped on the trigger guard, mainspring housing, and back of the slide. Barrel has the correct "P" on top. and the bore is good with light frosting. Pistol is in excellent overall condition as professionally restored, retaining approx. 98% blue, barrel was polished white, markings on right side of the slide may have been redone or enhanced. Grips are like new. Action functions properly. Bore is lightly frosted and good overall, with clear rifling. Est.: $2,000-$2,500. (C&R/PPT)(Michael Strietbeck Collection)
